Program Description

The main purpose of the Child Development program is to educate the professional staff who are interested in developmental psychology and successful in this area, communicating empathetically with children, giving importance to children, realizing children who has special needs, capable of using technological tools and equipments, has developed problem solving skills and strong sense of responsibility.

 

Child Development Program provides theoretical training as well as practical opportunities to face to face communication with the children and making practices what they have learned before. Students who graduate from the program will receive Associate's Degree and registered title as “Child Development Professional Staff”. Graduates may operate in pre-school institutions, kindergarten, private educational institutions and children’s clinics.

In accordance with the relevant legislation, graduates of the program have the opportunity for bachelor degree completion at “Preschool Teaching” and “Child Development and Training Teaching”.

Foundation & Recognition

Cag University Higher Vocational School is founded  with the objective of training well qualified intermediate managers needed to perform a particular job in private and public business organizations. Official Gazette: 09.07.1997, No.(R): 23050

Child Development Program aims to provide its students who are interested in developmental psychology and successful in this area, communicating empathetically with children, giving importance to children, realizing children who has special needs, capable of using technological tools and equipments, has developed problem solving skills and strong sense of responsibility.. Certified by Higher Education Council on 2016.

Qualification Awarded

The students who have succesfully completed the program will be awarded with a Associate's Degree in "Child Development".

Short Cycle Degree Program on Child Development.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students who have started studies in other domestic or international universities may apply for admission according to Regulations of Council of Higher Education and Çağ University.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of  Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal And İnformal)

Students who have studied at other Universities may transfer Çağ University Vocational School Programmes after the completion of first semester. Exemption is given for any other courses which have been taken with passing grades and same content from other universities.

Qualification Requirements And Regulations

A student is required to have a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00, no failing grades and total of 120 ECTS credits.

Graduates may operate in pre-school institutions, kindergarten, private educational institutions and children’s clinics.

Students may apply to undergraduate (first cycle) programs.

Examination Regulations, Assessment And Grading

The examination regulations are specified for each course. However, generally, there is 1 Midterm Exam and 1 Final Exam for each course. See the exam regulations, assessment and grading of each course in the Course Structure Diagram for details.

Graduation Requirements

The graduation requirements for the Program of Public Relations and Advertising are as same as the general qualification requirements and regulations of Çağ University. There is no additional requirement to secure the Associate's Degree provided that the students have passed all the courses in the curriculum with at least a DD grade, had a cumulative gross point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Programme Outcomes

  1. It supports the developmental areas (physical, mental, emotional, social) of children in special education institutions, preschools and playrooms in children's clinics.
  2. We endeavor to educate children to acquire personality, to prepare for life and to a higher education institution, and apply them comprehensively, using education methods based on modern intelligence based on multi-intelligence understanding.
  3. It observes the behavior of the children who are responsible, organizes activities that enhance and clarify their abilities.
  4. They have the ability to guide children to gain good habits and take preventive measures against bad behavior.
  5. Children who are responsible can give drama, painting, music, computer and gymnastic training, and can benefit from modern teaching and learning tools.
  6. Know basic concepts about development and developmental periods, organize events as developmental psychology requires
  7. Know basic concepts about mental development and develop appropriate applications for periods of mental development.
  8. Develops concepts of creativity and creative thinking, supports original behavior
  9. The place and importance of play in pre-school education can be used as a gaming tool when it is reappearing, rehabilitation of the child and self-expression.
  10. It has equipment to guide the definition, types, causes, developmental characteristics and educational principles of special education and sick children to the people and institutions that will be able to guide them to their children's families.
  11. General human relationships have basic skills, knowing the importance of healthy communication and personal development.
  12. Students who are responsible can transfer basic concepts to prepare students for primary education or life, both emotionally and cognitively, and can create a positive feeling in the student.

TAR-201 - Ataturk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution I

To teach the foundation and development of  Modern Turkey.  To give the right information about  Ataturk’s way of thinking, Turkish Republic History, Turkey and some factors threatening   the applications of Ataturk’s way of thinking. Educate Turkish youth as regards to Ataturk’s way of thinking which offers an absolute unity at home as a system including all cultural components of Turkish country.  To raise rationalist, contemporary, humanist, hardworking, and honourable youngsters.
