BLG-101 DIGITAL LITERACY
The course aims to remind students of and use well-known, everyday expressions and very basic phrases that aim to meet students' concrete needs, and also to enable students to answer questions that include personal details such as the things they own, the people they know, where they live, ask questions, introduce themselves and other people, and ultimately to communicate slowly and clearly with the other person.
TIC-103 INTRODUCTION TO FOREIGN TRADE
This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of basic international trade concepts, its historical development, import and export practices, delivery and payment methods, protectionism and liberalization, diversification of trade by goods and countries, emerging trends and technologies, and the development and structure of international trade in Turkey.
TRK-103 TURKISH I
This course covers the definition and characteristics of language, the relationship between language and culture, classification of languages and the place of Turkish among world languages, the historical development of the Turkish language, Turkey Turkish, phonetics, and phonological processes in Turkish, spelling rules, punctuation marks, and writing conventions. Rhetoric and composition rules are also taught both theoretically and practically to ensure the appropriate and coherent expression of ideas and emotions.
ENG-105 ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS I
This course aims to motivate students through engaging and relevant reading texts while providing examples of target grammar and vocabulary. Grammar is emphasized through active participation in the learning process. Selected texts serve as the basis for tasks focusing on both content and form. Vocabulary is developed through usage-based exercises. Listening, speaking, and reading skills are enhanced through introductory texts, while writing skills are improved by providing students with opportunities to control the language and create various types of written texts.
ISL-107 BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
This course focuses on the fundamental principles and historical development of business management, including planning, organizing, directing, and controlling. Topics such as strategic management and the development and application of management science at national and international levels are examined.
MAT-143 MATHEMATICS
This course aims to develop students’ analytical thinking skills, enhance understanding of mathematical formulas, promote mental arithmetic and estimation skills, and foster inductive and deductive reasoning. Students are encouraged to approach real-life business problems from multiple perspectives.
TRK-104 TURKISH II
This course focuses on the simplification process of Turkish, phonological changes, structural features, spelling and punctuation rules, and the characteristics of written and oral expression. It also aims to equip students with the skills necessary to write formal petitions through instruction on relevant conventions.
ECO-106 PRINCIPLES OF ECONOMICS
The course covers the basic concepts of economics, scopes of microeconomics and macroeconomics, markets, supply and demand, elasticities, consumer behavior theory, production and cost, types of market structures (perfect competition, monopoly, oligopoly), macroeconomic variables, national income concepts, macroeconomic issues such as economic growth, inflation, unemployment, public and foreign debt, monetary and fiscal policies, and economic development.
ING-106 ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS II
As a continuation of ENG 101, this course aims to help students understand frequently used phrases and sentences related to topics of personal interest (such as personal and family information, shopping, local geography, and employment). It also develops students’ abilities to communicate in routine and simple exchanges of information in familiar contexts and describe their surroundings and personal experiences in a simple manner.
TIC-108 LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT
This course includes the fundamental concepts of logistics, logistics activities, the logistics sector, reverse logistics, supply chain management, outsourcing, green logistics and sustainability, logistics and marketing, logistics and distribution channels, logistics and information technologies, and risk management in logistics.
TIC-110 E-COMMERCE
This course focuses on establishing a comprehensive understanding of key terms, concepts, and definitions related to e-commerce. It highlights the relationship between technology and business, covering topics such as e-commerce terminology, e-marketplaces, technological infrastructure of e-commerce, e-supply chains, launching and managing a successful e-business, and security issues.
ACC-201 PRINCIPLES OF ACCOUNTING
This course explores how financial statements are prepared by businesses. Students are expected to apply accounting principles and rules used by professionals to generate financial statements and are then guided to evaluate these statements.
LAW-203 INTRODUCTION TO LAW
The course examines the function of law in society, compares legal rules with religious, customary, and moral norms, and addresses public-private law distinctions. It covers legal relations and rights, types of rights, right holders and subjects, acquisition and loss of rights, legal acts and transactions, and methods of protecting rights.
HIS-203 ATATURK'S PRINCIPLES AND HISTORY OF REVOLUTION I
This course analyzes the reasons for the failure of reforms in the late Ottoman Empire and their influence on Atatürk’s reforms. It introduces ideologies such as Turkism, Islamism, Ottomanism, Westernism, and Socialism. The course also examines the War of Independence led by Mustafa Kemal as a process to end occupations and establish a nation-state based on national sovereignty.
TIC-203 FOREIGN TRADE TRANSACTIONS AND PRACTICES
This course covers foreign trade operations, import and export procedures, foreign exchange legislation, documents used in foreign trade, international investments, free zones, and includes a term project.
HIS-204 ATATURK'S PRINCIPLES AND HISTORY OF REVOLUTION II
This course is a continuation of HIS-203, reinforcing knowledge about the failures of late Ottoman reforms and their effects on Atatürk’s transformations. The course continues to explore national ideologies and the role of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in leading the War of Independence and establishing the Turkish Republic.
TIC-205 CUSTOMS REGULATIONS AND PRACTICES
This course covers fundamental customs concepts, the legal structure of Turkish Customs Law, the Turkish Customs Tariff Schedule, customs value declaration, registration and acceptance of customs declarations, various legal regulations, domestic and foreign processing regimes, customs warehousing and temporary import regimes, transit regimes, and free zones in Turkey.
TIC-204 FOREIGN TRADE LEGISLATION
This course addresses import and export regulations, foreign exchange legislation, drafting of international trade contracts, national and international trade institutions, and standardization in foreign trade.
TIC-210 LOGISTICS IN FOREIGN TRADE AND PRACTICES
The course aims to provide students with knowledge on logistics management in foreign trade, basic logistics concepts, terminology, the structure of the logistics sector in Turkey, logistics activities, marketing and distribution channels, logistics supply chains, use of information technologies in logistics management, outsourcing, risk management, and logistics operations.
TIC-212 VOCATIONAL INTERNSHIP
This course involves field practice aimed at implementing the theoretical knowledge gained by students in various organizations and institutions. It provides practical experience in the relevant professional field.
ISL-218 ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND LEADERSHIP
This course focuses on concepts of entrepreneurship, characteristics of entrepreneurs, success factors in entrepreneurship, and leadership roles and skills. It includes developing a business idea and preparing a business plan based on case studies and success stories. The course also provides information on entrepreneurship support mechanisms such as KOSGEB and TÜBİTAK and enables students to obtain a certificate in entrepreneurship.
ISL-220 SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND BUSINESS ETHICS
The theoretical part of the course addresses the conceptual and historical background of business ethics and social responsibility. The practical part involves preparing a sample social responsibility project.
TIC-220 INTERNATIONAL TRADE FINANCE
This course explores key methods used in financing international trade. Topics include Turkish Eximbank loans, export credits from commercial banks, pre-financing loans, counter-trade, letters of guarantee, financial leasing, factoring, and forfaiting.
