Program Profile

Banking and Insurance Program;

  • To train professionals with appropriate qualifications who will assist in management in banks, intermediary financial institutions and investment companies, insurance companies and agencies, as well as in the finance departments of companies in every sector, or who can open and operate insurance agencies on their own behalf,
  • It is a program that aims to train individuals who have critical thinking skills in human and social relations, are open to communication, and observe ethical rules.

By adhering to the moral and social values of the students;

-Equipping them with basic and technical knowledge,

- Gain problem-solving skills by using scientific background gains,

- To develop communication, cooperation, questioning and responsibility skills, and

- To ensure that they continue their professional and personal development throughout their lives are the main objectives of the Banking and Insurance program.

Learning Environments

Education and training are carried out in a formal manner. Due to our sufficient technological facilities, the distance education method is also partially implemented. In addition, practical trainings are carried out through research centers etc. units within the University.

Learning Outcomes (Definition)

  1. Students will be able to recognize basic and relevant theoretical and practical knowledge related to financial management, such as courses in business, economics, law, mathematics, statistics, accounting, and finance.
  2. Students will be able to use basic and relevant knowledge about banking and insurance.
  3. Students will be able to propose creative and innovative solutions to possible problems, partner with stakeholders, and form a team and take responsibility when necessary, using basic and technical scientific background.
  4. Students will be able to learn how to apply their skills to life by developing how to access and research information about banking and insurance, and will be able to select, make sense of, interpret and use existing data.
  5. Students will be able to provide their colleagues with oral and written knowledge about banking & insurance at the specified level.
  6. Students will be able to follow information and data from public, private and media sources.
  7. Students will be able to rely on and act in accordance with social, scientific, cultural and ethical values and criteria in the stages of obtaining, using, applying and announcing data related to banking and insurance.

Grading System

1.Grading system, examination systems and their contributions to course grades are defined on “The Regulation for Education, Teaching, and Examination Rules for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees of Cag University” and determined by the University’s Senate.

2. Different systems like homeworks, projects, practical applications, midterms, and final exams are employed for grading.

3.The grading system is based on letters and/or numbers.

4.Grades like AA, BA, BB, CB and CC reveal that course is successfully completed while grades like DC and DD reveal conditional pass that would be counted as successful if weighted average of all grades are accepted as successful that have defined in the Regulation. FD and FF show student is not successful.

Quality Assurance

In order to observe the quality of higher education programs;

- YOK is responsible for the planning, organization, management and supervision of education and training and other activities carried out in higher education institutions.

- "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" of higher education institutions prepared every year within the framework of the criteria determined by YOK are published. Reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are also shared with the public by YOK.

- The "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report", which includes academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions, is published annually by YOK. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations made for foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YOK.

The quality assurance of the Banking and Insurance Associate Degree Program is provided as follows:

Creation and Approval of Curriculum:

YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of associate/undergraduate programs in higher education institutions.

The curriculum of associate/undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will bring to the student are determined by the Cag University Senate in accordance with the basic principles determined by YOK on these issues.

Assessment and Evaluation:

How to measure and evaluate the learning outcomes that the Banking and Insurance Associate Degree Program will bring to the student is carried out in accordance with the Cag University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, which are prepared in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

Certification:

Students enrolled in the Banking and Insurance Associate Degree Program, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receives an associate/bachelor's degree.

Self-Evaluation-External Evaluation:

In the context of continuous monitoring, Cag University enters the "Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Board (THEQC) at the beginning of each year. THEQC shares with the public the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions. In addition, accreditation decisions made by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by THEQC also indicate that the qualifications of the programs are quality assured. It carries out regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the THEQC legislation.

Access Requirements

To be placed in Cag University Banking and Insurance Program as a result of the central exam conducted by Measurement Selection and Placement Center.

Conditions for Success

The graduation requirements for the Banking and Insurance Program are specified in the Cag University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. Accordingly, students can graduate when they achieve a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, provided that they pass all the courses in the course curriculum with a letter grade of at least DD.

Progression Paths (Relationship Type)

Students who graduate from the Banking and Insurance Associate Degree Program can apply to undergraduate programs according to the results of the Vertical Transfer Exam conducted by Measurement Selection and Placement Center.
