Program Profile The Social Services Program trains support staff for the administrative services of organizations, in line with contemporary and universal values, to work with disadvantaged individuals, families, and groups. Therefore, the program aims to develop a workforce that is knowledgeable about human psychology, proficient in techniques for interviewing disadvantaged individuals, and skilled in report writing.
Learning Environment Education and training are primarily conducted through face-to-face learning. Due to the adequacy of technological resources, distance education is also partially implemented. Additionally, practical training is provided through research centers and other units within the university.
Program Outcomes (Qualifications)

Upon completion of the program, a student will:

 

PO-1: Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge related to the social work profession.


PO-2: Recognize the practice areas of social work and learn the roles and functions of a social work professional.


PO-3: Gain professional interviewing and reporting skills, along with knowledge of social work legislation.


PO-4: Increase awareness of social issues and develop evidence-based solutions with the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired.

Assessment and Evaluation Methods

The methods of assessment and evaluation, including the types of exams and their contribution to the course grade, are determined by the provisions of the Çağ University Associate and Bachelor’s Degree Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations, as well as Senate decisions.

Various methods such as assignments, final projects, internships, mid-term exams, and final exams are used in assessment and evaluation.

In evaluating student success, grading systems based on letters and/or numbers are utilized.

Quality Assurance

For ensuring the quality of higher education programs:

  • YÖK is responsible for the planning, organization, management, and supervision of education and other activities carried out at higher education institutions.

  • Every year, YÖK publishes the "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" for higher education institutions, based on the criteria set by YÖK. Reports containing both quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, prepared according to these reports, are also shared with the public by YÖK.

  • YÖK publishes the "Private Higher Education Institutions Report" every year, which includes academic, administrative, and financial data of private higher education institutions. These reports, which contain both quantitative and qualitative evaluations of private higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

The quality assurance of the Social Services Associate Degree Program is provided as follows:

Creation and Approval of the Teaching Programs:

YÖK sets the minimum standards and criteria required for the establishment of associate and undergraduate programs at higher education institutions.

The curriculum of associate/undergraduate programs at higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to students are determined by the Senate of Çağ University, in accordance with the basic principles set by YÖK in this regard.

-Assessment and Evaluation:

The assessment and evaluation of the learning outcomes to be acquired by students in the Social Services Associate Degree Program is carried out in accordance with the basic principles set by YÖK and the Çağ University Associate and Undergraduate Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations prepared accordingly.

Certification:

Students enrolled in the Social Services Associate Degree Program, upon successfully completing the required course credits and other obligations set by the higher education institution, will receive an associate/undergraduate diploma.

Self-Assessment and External Evaluation:

Within the context of continuous monitoring, Çağ University enters the "Institutional Self-Assessment Reports" for the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" on the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. Additionally, accreditation decisions made by accreditation organizations authorized or recognized by YÖKAK demonstrate that the quality assurance of the programs' adequacy is ensured. YÖKAK also conducts regular reviews of the qualifications specified by the regulations set forth by YÖKAK.

 

Admission Requirements Being placed in the Social Services Program at Çağ University as a result of the central exam conducted by ÖSYM.
Conditions for Gaining the Qualification The graduation requirements for the Social Services Program are specified in the Çağ University Associate and Undergraduate Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations. Accordingly, students must pass all courses in the curriculum with at least a DD letter grade and achieve a minimum overall GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 in order to graduate
Opportunities for Progression Graduates of the Social Services Associate Degree Program can apply to undergraduate programs based on the results of the Vertical Transfer Exam (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı) conducted by ÖSYM.
