TRK-103 Turkish I

This course covers the definition and characteristics of language, the relationship between language and culture, classification of languages, the place of Turkish among world languages, the historical development of the Turkish language, Turkish in Turkey, phonology, sound events in Turkish, spelling rules, punctuation marks, and rules for written communication. Rhetoric, which ensures that emotions and thoughts are conveyed appropriately and harmoniously, along with writing rules, punctuation marks, and composition, is taught both theoretically and practically.

ING-105 English Language Skills I

Reading texts aim to motivate students with interesting and relevant content while providing examples of target language knowledge and vocabulary. Grammar focuses on emphasis and active participation in the learning process. Examples from texts are extracted and used as a foundation for tasks focusing on both the content and formal aspects of the target language. Vocabulary is developed through exercises that help apply words in context. Listening, speaking, and reading skills are developed through introductory texts. Writing skills provide students with the opportunity to control language and create texts in various forms.

ISG-107 Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety

This course covers the basic concepts of occupational health, workplace environmental factors, and protective measures, as well as the concept of occupational diseases, their types, and protective measures, the definition of work accidents and their prevention, risk groups, occupational health services, relevant legislation, the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, employer responsibilities, employee responsibilities, risk management and assessment, health and safety signs, workplace health and safety training, communication, and national and international organizations and agreements.

HUK-109 Introduction to Law

This course covers basic concepts such as rights, law, equity, justice, property, personality, inheritance, debt, and responsibility, branches of law, types of lawsuits, judicial organization, inheritance law, and personal law, as well as distinctions within the legal system.

ISG-109 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems

This course provides theoretical knowledge on organizing, communicating, and consulting throughout the process in accordance with OHS objectives, such as ergonomics in the workplace, identifying and analyzing hazards and risks, taking necessary precautions, identifying and intervening in operational failures.

ISG-111 Professional Ethics

By defining ethics and moral concepts, students learn about ethical and unethical behavior in professional life. The course also raises awareness about professional corruption, the ethical climate, and its impact on employees.

BLG-101 Digital Literacy

The aim of this course is to ensure that students are aware of the social and cultural impacts of the digital transformation process, recognize advanced digital technologies and tools, and use digital tools (Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) effectively in learning environments. Additionally, students will gain the ability to use the internet proficiently, utilize information correctly, and acquire up-to-date technological knowledge.

TRK-104 Turkish II

This course covers the process of simplification in Turkish, phonological events in Turkish, structural features, basic information about spelling and punctuation rules, characteristics of written and oral expression, and provides rules for writing petitions to develop petition-writing skills.

ING-106 English Language Skills II

This course, which is a continuation of ING 105, aims to help students recall and use sentences and frequently used expressions related to the topics that interest them the most. It ensures that students can describe simple and routine tasks, provide personal information, and communicate effectively in familiar, everyday situations.

ISG-108 Occupational Diseases and Occupational Health

The course includes the definition of occupational diseases, groups, and factors, work-related diseases, diseases of the respiratory system, cardiovascular system, skin, nervous system, genitourinary system, infectious diseases, cancers, musculoskeletal disorders, hearing loss at the workplace, official medical examinations, related regulations, and the impact of physical, chemical, and biological factors in the work environment.

IYU-116 First Aid and Applications

This course provides information about first aid and its importance, distinguishing between first aid and emergency treatment, basic first aid techniques, how to assess and treat bleeding, shock, sprains, dislocations, fractures, poisoning, and drowning.

MAT-120 Mathematics

The course aims to enhance analytical thinking abilities, understand mathematical formulas, perform mental calculations, and use inference methods such as induction and deduction in solving problems. Topics include basic arithmetic operations, solution sets, rational numbers, exponents, radicals, factorials, number theory, and functions.

TAR-203 Atatürk's Principles and the History of the Revolution I

This course covers the strategy of the Turkish Revolution, the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, the causes that led to the Turkish Revolution, the reform movements in the 19th century Ottoman Empire, internal and external events during the dissolution of the Empire, ideas in the final period of the Empire, World War I, the signing of the Armistice of Mudros, occupations, reactions, societies, the first steps toward national resistance, and organization through congresses.

ISG-205 Ergonomics

The course explains the historical development of ergonomics and provides information about basic concepts, the anatomy and physiology of the human body, ergonomic organization of workplaces, anthropometric workplace adjustments, working postures, physical workplace adjustments such as noise, lighting, and climate control, psychological workplace arrangements, and ergonomics in occupational diseases.

ING-207 Professional English I

This course aims to help students recall and use basic phrases and structures related to their personal needs. It enables students to introduce themselves and others, answer questions about their possessions, people they know, and places they live, and communicate slowly and clearly with others.

ISG-209 Risk Analysis and Assessment

The course covers the identification, analysis, and assessment of risks and hazards encountered in occupational health and safety. Students will learn about various risk evaluation methods and gain practical knowledge in managing risk assessment processes.

ISG-211 Occupational Health and Safety Legislation

This course introduces the basic concepts of occupational health and safety law, the legal, administrative, and criminal responsibilities related to occupational health and safety, as well as the fundamental laws and regulations governing occupational health and safety.

ISG-219 Industrial and Environmental Health

The importance of a clean environment, types of environmental pollution, environmental protection, industrial waste, energy resources usage, fire and explosion risks, fire safety measures, and regulations related to environmental health and safety are discussed in this course.

TAR-204 Atatürk's Principles and the History of the Revolution II

This course explores the Turkish War of Independence, Atatürk's revolutions, the Atatürkist Thought System, the history of the Turkish Republic, threats to the Republic and Atatürkist reforms, and educating and strengthening Turkish youth in line with Atatürk’s principles and the national goals of the Republic.

ING-208 Professional English II

This course continues from ING 207 and helps students to use known daily phrases and basic structures. It enables students to respond to and ask questions about personal information, introduce themselves and others, and engage in slow and clear communication.

ISG-212 Chemicals and Hazards

The course covers the classification of hazardous chemicals, their properties, and precautions that should be taken, including explosive, flammable, toxic gases, and other hazardous substances. It also includes regulations regarding the transportation, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and emergency responses to chemical hazards.

ISG-214 Emergency Management

The course focuses on emergency plans for disasters and industrial accidents, such as fires, earthquakes, floods, explosions, sabotage, and terrorist attacks. It includes information on search and rescue methods, emergency planning, and legal requirements for emergency response teams.

ISL-218 Entrepreneurship and Leadership

This course introduces the concepts, characteristics, and types of entrepreneurship, theories and skills of leadership, and the role of entrepreneurial leaders in modern business environments.

ISL-220 Social Responsibility and Business Ethics

This course focuses on the concept, approaches, and models of social responsibility and business ethics, the historical development and application of business ethics, and social responsibility in businesses, including ethical and voluntary responsibilities, and projects.

ISG-220 Professional Internship

This course provides students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real work environments, allowing them to integrate more easily into professional life.

ISG-218 Final Project

In this course, students conduct research in the field of Occupational Health and Safety, collecting, classifying, and analyzing information, and summarizing the findings in an academic language following scientific principles.
