PÇ-1. They can understand the linguistic, lexical, semantic, and syntactic structures of both English and Turkish, as well as the differences between these languages, and use these structures to communicate both in writing and orally.
PÇ-2. By constantly following current events, conducting research, and reading, they improve themselves in both English and Turkish, expand their terminology vocabulary, approach different viewpoints objectively, and thus acquire the skill of lifelong learning.
PÇ-3. They can define the basic concepts in translation and adapt them to the translation process by explaining translation-specific theories, techniques, and methods.
PÇ-4. They acquire theoretical and practical basic knowledge related to translation, including the fundamentals of translation studies, written and oral translation techniques, composition writing, sectoral translation, and technical and scientific translation practices.
PÇ-5. They can define different texts and text types, analyze them, and apply the results of their analysis to the translation process.
PÇ-6. They can use computer-assisted translation programs, term banks, spelling and grammar checks, terminology databases, and software and hardware developed by information technologies for this field, as well as keep up with developments in these areas.
PÇ-7. They can identify problems encountered in written and oral translation by using translation techniques, develop solutions, share these solutions with relevant parties, and, if necessary, form teams and take on responsibilities to achieve this goal.
PÇ-8. They gain and develop awareness of professional and ethical responsibilities by participating in practical activities in different fields.
PÇ-9. They can collect information and data from a critical perspective to conduct research in different areas of expertise, analyze the data, evaluate the results, and create a project based on this information to present orally.
PÇ-10. They are aware of the impact of cultural structures in different geographical regions where English and Turkish are spoken on the language and translation process, and can use this awareness in the translation process.
