This course examines the institutional structures of international organizations such as the United Nations, NATO, World Trade Organization, IMF and their place in world politics. The aim of this course is to teach the role and importance of international organizations in world politics.


IRE-565 Scientific Research Methods and Publication Ethics

In this course, topics such as introduction to scientific research, foundations of scientific research, scientific approaches (positivism & qualitative approach; interpretive & quantitative approach), basic concepts in scientific research, data types and data collection tools, sample types, quantitative and qualitative data analysis are discussed. In addition, it is aimed to develop students' critical analysis perspectives by preparing a research report and reporting findings.


IRE-513 - Diplomacy in the 21st Century

"Diplomacy in the 21st Century" course aims to provide students with the skills to understand, analyze and effectively apply diplomacy in the contemporary world order. This course introduces students to traditional diplomatic concepts by adapting them to today's complex international relations. Factors such as the increasing complexity of global issues, and the impact of digital communication are shaping 21st century diplomacy. This course provides students with up-to-date knowledge and skills on topics such as international negotiations, digital diplomacy, the use of soft power, international law and international organizations, allowing students to understand contemporary diplomatic mechanisms and work effectively in these areas.


IRE-530 - Term Project

It is an academic work to be written in accordance with the rules of writing in the field of International Relations. The course aims to conduct a comprehensive essay, a critical report, a practical project or an experimental study. The project is evaluated as successful or unsuccessful at the end of the semester.


IRE-532 - Seminar (Non-Thesis)

In seminar studies conducted under the supervision of an instructor, it is aimed to gain experience in this subject by conducting an independent research and to develop the ability to speak in front of the public by explaining the subject. Determining the subject of the study, researching secondary sources and using them in the study, field research, preparing the draft study in the light of the information obtained, making the necessary corrections and completing the report in accordance with the report writing rules and finally presenting and discussing the report to the audience constitute the scope of this course.

Comparative Politics and Democratization course provides students with an opportunity to examine the political systems, democratization processes and policy formations of different countries. This course provides students with the opportunity to examine the political structures and democratization processes of various countries from a comparative perspective using the basic concepts and methods of analysis in the field of political science.


IRE-542 - Middle East History and Politics

The course will begin with a description of the Middle East region and a survey of its political, economic and social characteristics. It will then move on to analyze the major social, political and military problems in the region, such as the Palestinian conflict and the situation in Iraq. The course will also cover Turkey's policy towards the region. The main objective of this course is to analyze the political, economic and social characteristics of the Middle East, which occupies an important place in Turkish foreign policy.


IRE-578 - Turkish Foreign Policy and Current Problems

"Turkish Foreign Policy and Current Issues" course provides students with the opportunity to understand Turkey's foreign policy development, priorities and current challenges. The course examines the evolution of Turkish foreign policy from its origins to the present day and provides students with the skills to understand Turkey's role in the international arena and its regional interactions. Moreover, by focusing on current international issues, Turkey's role and policy decisions on these issues, the course encourages students to analyze current events and contribute to the search for solutions to future diplomatic and strategic challenges. This course provides students with a solid foundation in understanding the complexity and versatility of Turkish foreign policy and helps them better grasp Turkey's role in international affairs.

The course covers the basic concepts of ecology and sustainability, examining the environment-human relationship and interaction, proposing solutions to ecological problems, sustainable development, ecological planning, urban ecology, public participation, sustainable design and planning. The topics examined are human and nature relationship, environmental problems, environment and growth, environment and trade, traditional development approach, sustainable development approaches, political ecology, sustainability concept, economy-society-environment triangle, economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, social sustainability, economic value of nature, examples of environmental movements in Turkey. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with environmental problems and to explain the solutions proposed for solving the problems, to draw attention to the economic, social and environmental aspects of development, to emphasize the general characteristics of sustainable development.


IRE-512 - Current Issues in World Politics

The aim of this course is to teach important debates on international issues in world politics. This course examines prominent international issues in world politics through case studies such as the Arab-Israeli Conflict, the Middle East Peace Process, the Nuclear Crisis, and the rise of China and India.

MAN-505 - Turkish Economy

Within the scope of the course to examine the Turkish economy, economic developments before and after the Republic, the causes and consequences of economic crises, the relationship between globalization and the Turkish economy, production, employment, prices, investments, public finance, monetary policy, foreign trade, sectoral relations (agriculture, industry, energy, mining, mining and services) and similar topics will be covered. Thus, Turkey's economic policies will be analyzed analytically in order to understand the economic developments in the near future.

This course examines global economic relations. Topics to be discussed include trade and protectionism, the role and performance of global institutions such as the IMF, the World Bank and the World Trade Organization, the importance of multinational corporations, regional economic integration efforts such as the EU and NAFTA, and the emergence of new economic actors such as China, India and Brazil. The aim of this course is to examine the interplay of economic and political processes. Students will be provided with theoretical and practical knowledge about the structure of the international economic system and the complex interaction between this structure and political institutions.

In this course, which aims to develop students' theoretical and practical skills about current digital marketing trends; digital marketing strategies, digital marketing mix, preparation of marketing campaigns on digital platforms, marketing communication on digital platforms and digital marketing applications used on a global basis. In addition, the development of digital marketing, its current status, problems encountered in practice and solutions will also be discussed in the course. In the ongoing era of digitalization, the basic components of marketing have been reshaped and integrated with technology. The aim of this course is to provide students with information about the basic concepts, methods and tools of digital marketing and to gain the skills to analyze and apply digital marketing examples.

In this course, Russia's new foreign policy concepts, priorities of Russian foreign policy in the 21st century, Russia's approach to the security problem in the global context and Russia's influence on global politics will be examined. The place and role of the Russian Federation in global politics is of worldwide interest. The aim of this course is to examine the content of Russian foreign policy and how this policy affects world politics, taking into account the role Russia plays on the world stage.

It is aimed to provide knowledge and skills about cross-cultural psychology, cultural psychology and local psychology approaches and psychological investigations of culture-behavior relationships.


MAN-582 - Virtual Worlds

The course will be based on Second Life, an online virtual environment through avatars. Students will see how the virtual environment works and evaluate the way virtual content is created. This course aims to teach students how to manage effective teamwork in a virtual and intercultural environment while dealing with many obstacles such as cultural difference, language barriers, time difference, technological issues, etc. This course will also provide an opportunity for collaboration and networking among participants and lecturers from different disciplines, institutions and cultures. Technological components of Virtual Worlds, ethical and social issues related to Virtual Worlds will be covered in this course. Thus, after one semester of study, students will be able to understand the role of Virtual Worlds in today's society.

The course provides a review of the technology aspects of digital transformation, as well as the market and business aspects, and the policy and regulatory initiatives affecting digitalization processes. This includes an examination of network infrastructures, management and processing of data and digital services and applications made available, business processes and services, including business models and ecosystems. It will also discuss the policy initiatives and regulatory measures at work at this juncture, including EU policies in the region. Thus, after one semester of study, students will be able to understand the impact of digitalization in today's society.

OSD 592- Crime and Psychology of Crime

The aim of this course is to provide students with a new framework for interpreting criminal behavior, to provide them with knowledge about the etiology, risk factors, evaluation and treatment of different criminal behaviors, as well as different perspectives on criminal behavior. This course will also help students understand the thought processes of individuals who violate social norms. They will be enabled to understand the types of crimes committed as well as biological, psychological and situational factors and to take a critical approach to real or simulated crime cases.
