INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS  DEPARTMENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES (LOs)

A student is able to

1. Critically evaluates fundamental theories and principles of international relations.

2. Demonstrates foundational knowledge of International Relations as a discipline.

3. Analyzes global political, economic, and social structures.

4. Identifies and assesses key concepts, functions, and issues in international relations while considering the country’s strategic priorities.

5. Examines power balances in international relations, crisis and conflict management, and international security threats to propose viable solutions.

6. Understands and interprets global economic relations and the dynamics of international trade.

7. Takes responsibility as an individual and group member to solve encountered and unforeseen complex issues in practice.

8. Articulates their knowledge, opinions, and recommendations both verbally and in writing and uses English at the “European Language Portfolio B1 General Level”.

9. Applies acquired knowledge and collaborate with professionals from other fields to develop optimal solutions.

10. Adheres to scientific methodology and ethical values in the collection, interpretation, dissemination, and application of relevant data.

11. Utilizes necessary information and communication technologies.

12. Assesses and analyzes diplomatic processes and international negotiations.

13. Demonstrates awareness of occupational health and safety, social responsibility, and environmental protection.

14. Actively engage in social responsibility projects that promote human rights, environmental sustainability, and sustainable development goals.

INTENDED STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES (ISLOs)

A student who has successfully completed the International Relations Program should be able to:

1. Produce reports and presentations to accomplish effective and professional communication in different business settings,

2.Demonstrate professionalism while using information technology tools in his/her field,

3.Develop a world view based on an awareness of the diversity of perspectives that structure the global political, social, economic, and legal environment ,

4.Carry out the ethical and legal principles when making decisions in global business environments,

5.Contribute to the improvement of the system that she/he lives in by combining the acquired  theoretical and practical knowledge,

6.Use leadership, team working and interpersonal relationship abilities,

7.Describe the basic actors, events, and concepts of international relations and can relate these to contemporary global issues ,

8.Coordinate appropriate analytical and research skills to the study of international relations and improve critical thinking and skills in making research independently from public, private and media sources (media literacy) in both Turkish and English,

9.Use initiative under changing business conditions, uses analytical, innovative and creative approaches to solve problems.
