General Description of Turkish Language and Literature Program

Establishment & Description

The Turkish Language and Literature Program at Çağ University was established in 2009 under Article 7/d-2 of Decision No. 2880 dated July 1, 2009.

Recognized by the Council of Higher Education of Turkey, the Turkish Language and Literature Program was established with the aim of training teachers, academics, critics, writers, editors, and proofreaders equipped to meet the needs of public and private schools, various institutions and organizations, and publishing houses.

Titles Earned Upon completing the program, students receive a Bachelor's Degree in Turkish Language and Literature.

Admission Requirements Students of the department can take formation courses from any university in the country according to the regulations of the Council of Higher Education and Çağ University. For detailed information, please visit the Çağ University website.
Regulations for Equivalence (Formal, Non-Formal, and Informal Education) Students studying at other universities can transfer to the Turkish Language and Literature Program at Çağ University after completing their first semester. In addition to transfer grades, exemptions are granted for equivalent courses taken at other universities.
Passing System and Regulations The general passing grade (GPA) for a student must be at least 2.00/4.00, and the student must not have any failing grades.
Program Profile The Turkish Language and Literature Program aims to equip students with both theoretical and practical knowledge of literature that is continuously evolving and developing; it seeks to train qualified teachers, academics, critics, writers, editors, and proofreaders capable of meeting the needs of public and private schools, various organizations, or institutions.
Professional Profiles of Graduates Graduates can work as teachers, academics, editors, writers, or proofreaders in public and private institutions or organizations, or they can start their own businesses in fields such as newspapers and magazines.
Advanced Study Opportunities Students can apply for master's and doctoral programs.
Examination Regulations, Assessment, and Evaluation The examination regulation is specified for each course. Generally, there is a midterm and a final exam for each course.
Graduation Requirements The graduation requirements for the Turkish Language and Literature Program are the same as the general regulations and conditions of Çağ University. Undergraduate students must pass all courses in the curriculum with at least a DD letter grade and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 for graduation. There are no additional requirements.
