General Description of Turkish Language and Literature Program

Cag University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences was founded in 1997 with the objective of training well qualified future scientists and teachers working in public and private educational and research institutions.

Program of Turkish Language and Literature was founded to train well qualified teachers, academics, critics, writers, editors, and redactors needed to perform a particular job in private and public schools, organizations or institutions.

Qualification Awarded

The students who have successfully completed the program will be awarded with aB.Sc.Degree in Turkish Language and Literature

Specific Admission Requirements

Students who have been enrolled in other domestic or international universities may apply for admission according to Regulations of the Council of Higher Education and Çağ University. For high school graduates, a general entrance examination for Turkish students. For foreign students, special rules apply for admission.

Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of  Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal And İnformal)

Students who have studied at other Universities may transfer Çağ University for Turkish Language and Literature Program after the completion of first semester.

Exemption is given for any other courses which have been taken with passing grades and same content from other universities.

Qualification Requirements And Regulations

A student is required to have a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 and no failing grades.

Profile Of The Programme

Turkish Language and Literature Program is designed to equip the students with both theoretical and practical knowledge of the rapidly changing and developing literature nature, as qualified teachers, academics, critics, writers editors, and redactors needed to perform a particular job in private and public schools, organizations or institutions.

Occupational Profiles Of Graduates With Examples

Graduated students have opportunity to work in public and private institutions or organizations as teachers, academics, editors, writers or redactors, and also establish their own businesses such as magazines, journals.

Access To Further Studies

Students may apply to graduate (second cycle) programs.

Examination Regulations, Assessment And Grading

The examination regulations are specified for each course. In general, there is 1 Midterm Exam and 1 Final Exam for each course. For the details of exam regulations, course assessment and grading see the Course Structure Diagrams provided.

Graduation Requirements

The graduation requirements for the Program of Turkish Language and Literature Department are as same as the general qualification requirements and regulations of Çağ University. There is no additional requirement to secure the Undergraduate Degree provided that the students have passed all the courses in the curriculum with at least a DD grade, had a cumulative gross point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
