At Çağ University, the StateCraft Simulation Program is actively utilized in the teaching of international relations.
In the International Relations courses, Çağ University employs the StateCraft Simulation Program to enhance students’ skills in diplomacy, international politics, and crisis management. This platform provides students with the opportunity to govern states in a virtual world, formulate foreign policies, establish diplomatic relations, and resolve international crises.
During the application process, students experience real-life decision-making processes such as signing international agreements, forming alliances, determining economic policies, and developing security strategies.
StateCraft offers a student-centered learning environment where students actively take on decision-making roles, directly observe the outcomes, and develop strategic thinking skills. The platform allows each student or student group to represent a different country, supporting a role-based learning approach. This enables students to experience diverse perspectives, conduct negotiations, and strengthen their abilities to solve complex international issues.
The simulation supports the implementation of scenario-based learning, role-playing, problem-based learning, simulation-based instruction, and negotiation workshops. Instructors monitor students’ performance in diplomatic processes and the impacts of their decisions through the platform, providing feedback and integrating these experiences into classroom discussions. As a result, theoretical course content is combined with an interactive and experiential learning process.
The StateCraft simulation aligns with the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) quality assurance approach, enabling measurable learning outcomes and evidence-based evaluation. Detailed performance reports generated by the platform clearly demonstrate students’ progress in strategic planning, crisis management, and international cooperation skills.
Additionally, by modeling realistic international environments, the platform significantly enhances students’ critical thinking, effective communication, negotiation, and leadership competencies.
