Internet Archive

Internet Archive provides open, free, and full-text access to more than 15 million books and various types of written and printed materials. In this respect, it is by far the largest digital library in the world. Many libraries make their e-book archives available through the Internet Archive website. In addition to written and printed resources, you can also find materials such as images, videos, films, audio, and computer programs on Internet Archive.


HathiTrust
It is a large online library established through the collaboration of nearly 150 universities from many countries around the world, especially the United States. In addition to universities, this initiative is also supported by organizations such as Google and Microsoft. Its e-book archive contains nearly 3 million works. These resources are freely accessible to everyone via the Internet. Although the majority of the resources are in English, it also includes thousands of works related to Türkiye and Turkish history.


Open Library

It is a project implemented by Internet Archive. Its aim is to gather all books published around the world in a single catalog on the web. Although it has not yet fully achieved this goal, the Open Library catalog contains more than 1 million books. In the website’s e-book archive, many of these books have full-text copies. You can access and download digital copies of books whose copyrights have expired freely and without limitation. You can also read copyrighted books by becoming a member. Membership is free.


Europeana Collections

The Europeana Collections project, implemented by the European Union, aims to bring the collections of libraries, museums, and archives in Europe to the web. It is possible to access the digital archives of many institutions across Europe through the Europeana website. In addition to printed resources, the website also includes various types of materials such as images, videos, and music.


Project Gutenberg

Project Gutenberg, which started in 1971, is the world’s first digital library. Its founder, Michael S. Hart, is one of the inventors of the e-book. He carried out pioneering work in the field of e-books and digital libraries years before the Internet emerged. After the emergence of the Internet, Project Gutenberg was moved to the web and aims to provide unlimited and free access to books whose copyrights have expired. Today, it contains nearly 60,000 e-books.


New York Library Digital Collections

The New York State Library is one of the libraries with the richest online collections in the United States. Through the library’s website, you can access nearly 800,000 documents of various types such as e-books, periodicals, images, and videos freely and without limitation.


Bibliotheques d’Orient (Eastern Libraries)

This project, implemented under the leadership of the National Library of France and in collaboration with libraries and research institutions from France, Egypt, Türkiye, Lebanon, and Palestine, aims to bring together documents related to the history, geography, and culture of the Middle East region. The website provides open access to more than 10,000 documents.


MIT Open Learning Library

MIT Open Learning Library hosts selected educational content from MIT OpenCourseWare and MITx courses that can be accessed anytime by anyone from anywhere in the world. All materials are free to use. Some resources, especially those from MIT OpenCourseWare, are free to download, modify, and reuse for non-commercial purposes.
