United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN - SDGs)
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of targets adopted by United Nations (UN) member states in 2015, aimed at promoting sustainable development worldwide by 2030. The SDGs focus on advancing economic, social, and environmental progress and address critical issues such as poverty reduction, inequality elimination, and combating climate change globally.
The SDGs consist of 17 main goals and 169 targets designed to achieve them. The main headings of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are:
No Poverty: End poverty in all its forms everywhere.
Zero Hunger: End hunger and ensure access to nutritious food.
Good Health and Well-being: Increase access to healthcare and improve health outcomes.
Quality Education: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
Gender Equality: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
Clean Water and Sanitation: Improve access to clean water and adequate sanitation.
Affordable and Clean Energy: Increase access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy.
Decent Work and Economic Growth: Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, productive employment, and decent work for all.
Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.
Reduced Inequality: Reduce inequality within and among countries.
Sustainable Cities and Communities: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
Responsible Consumption and Production: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
Climate Action: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
Life Below Water: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources.
Life on Land: Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, forests, and biodiversity.
Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable institutions.
Partnerships for the Goals: Strengthen global partnerships to support and achieve the SDGs.

UI GreenMetric
UI GreenMetric evaluates universities based on their impact on various environmental factors and ranks their sustainability performance accordingly. United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (UN-PRME)
The United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is an initiative developed to encourage higher education institutions in business and management to lead and innovate in sustainability and social responsibility. PRME is part of the UN Global Compact and was launched by the United Nations in 2007.
Its core goal is to support universities and business schools in developing education programs and research to graduate professionals who build more sustainable relationships between business and society. PRME includes six principles:
Purpose: Integrate sustainability into leadership and management education and lead by example.
Values: Emphasize moral values and social responsibility.
Method: Develop teaching materials and curricula covering sustainability and support students in these topics.
Research: Conduct and disseminate research on sustainability.
Partnership: Collaborate with businesses, civil society, governments, and other institutions.
Dialogue: Regularly report on activities and progress aligned with PRME principles.
PRME highlights the importance of sustainability in business education and encourages institutions to fulfill their social and environmental responsibilities.
