AND RESEARCH CENTER REGULATION

CHAPTER ONE

Purpose, Scope, Basis, and Definitions

Purpose

ARTICLE 1 – (1) The purpose of this Regulation is to regulate the procedures and principles regarding the aims, fields of activity, management bodies, duties of the management bodies, and working procedures of Çağ University Social Responsibility Practice and Research Center.

Scope

ARTICLE 2 – (1) This Regulation covers the provisions related to the aims, fields of activity, management bodies, duties of the management bodies, and working procedures of Çağ University Social Responsibility Practice and Research Center.

Basis

ARTICLE 3 – (1) This Regulation has been prepared based on the subparagraph (2) of paragraph (d) of the first clause of Article 7 and Article 14 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 dated 4/11/1981.

Definitions

ARTICLE 4 – (1) In this Regulation;

a) Advisory Board: refers to the Advisory Board of the Center,

b) Center: refers to Çağ University Social Responsibility Practice and Research Center,

c) Director: refers to the Director of the Center,

ç) Rector: refers to the Rector of Çağ University,

d) University: refers to Çağ University,

e) Management Board: refers to the Management Board of the Center,

expressed.

 

SECOND SECTION

Objectives and Fields of Activity of the Center

 

Objectives of the Center

ARTICLE 5 – (1) The objectives of the Center are as follows:

a) To support the university’s education-teaching, research, and community service duties.

b) To contribute to students’ awareness of social responsibility.

c) To develop students’ skills in teamwork, time and resource management by preparing social responsibility projects, and to improve their understanding and behaviors of community service.

Fields of Activity of the Center

ARTICLE 6 – (1) The fields of activity of the Center are as follows:

a) To provide information to students about social responsibility.

b) To determine priorities regarding social responsibility projects.

c) To prepare social responsibility projects.

ç) To organize seminars, panels, conferences, and similar meetings related to the working areas of the Center.

d) To ensure the implementation of new projects or participation in existing projects in cooperation with other centers of the university and/or national and international institutions and organizations.

e) To carry out other activities related to the purpose of the Center.

THIRD SECTION

Management Bodies and Duties of the Center

Management bodies of the Center

ARTICLE 7 – (1) The management bodies of the Center are as follows:

a) Director.

b) Management Board.

c) Advisory Board.

Director

ARTICLE 8 – (1) The Director is appointed by the Board of Trustees upon the recommendation of the Rector from among the university faculty members for a term of three years. The Director whose term has expired may be reappointed.

(2) With the approval of the Rector, the Director may assign one of the Management Board members as an assistant to help in his/her duties. When the Director’s term ends, the assistant’s term automatically ends as well.

Duties of the Director

ARTICLE 9 – (1) The duties of the Director are as follows:

a) To represent the Center and to chair the Management Board.

b) To carry out the administrative affairs of the Center.

c) To submit the annual work program of the Center to the Rector for approval after receiving the opinion of the Management Board.

ç) To contact national and international institutions and organizations related to the Center’s activities and to carry out projects and mutual assistance in line with the relevant legislation and the Center’s objectives.

Management Board

ARTICLE 10 – (1) The Management Board consists of five members in total: the Director and four members appointed by the Rector for three years from among the university faculty members experienced in the Center’s fields of activity.

(2) The Management Board meets and makes decisions by absolute majority at least once every three months upon the Director’s call.

Duties of the Management Board

ARTICLE 11 – (1) The duties of the Management Board are as follows:

a) To make decisions regarding the management and activities of the Center.

b) To prepare the activity report for each activity year and the work program for the following year.

Advisory Board and its duties

ARTICLE 12 – (1) The Advisory Board consists of up to seven members appointed by the Rector for three years upon the recommendation of the Management Board, selected from individuals experienced in the Center’s fields of activity. Members whose terms have expired may be reappointed.

(2) The duties of the Advisory Board are to evaluate the matters requested by the Management Board related to the Center’s activities and to provide consultative opinions and suggestions.

FOURTH SECTION

Miscellaneous and Final Provisions

Cases not provided for

ARTICLE 13 – (1) In cases where there are no provisions in this Regulation, the relevant provisions of other legislation and Senate decisions shall apply.

Repealed regulation

ARTICLE 14 – (1) The Regulation on Çağ University Social Responsibility Research Practice and Research Center published in the Official Gazette dated 26/5/2015 and numbered 29367 is repealed.

Entry into force

ARTICLE 15 – (1) This Regulation enters into force on the date of its publication.

Execution

ARTICLE 16 – (1) The provisions of this Regulation are executed by the Rector of Çağ University.
