As a result of the Intercollegiate Basketball 2nd League competitions held in Niğde, the Çağ University basketball team became the champion of its group and qualified to be promoted to the 1st League.
In the competitions attended by Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University, Nuh Naci Yazgan University, Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, Adana Alparslan Türkeş University, Hitit University, and Adıyaman University, Çağ University defeated Hitit University in the final match and became the champion.
Having returned with high rankings from various intercollegiate championships in different sports branches, Çağ University offers its students all kinds of sports activities with facilities that meet international standards.The students, who prepared for the competitions throughout the year under the leadership of the University's Sports Director, Ahmet TOK, crowned their disciplined efforts with a trophy.
Team Captain Barkın SÖNMEZ, a student in the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Çağ University, stated:"Together with my teammates studying in various departments such as Law, Psychology, English Language Teaching, International Trade and Logistics, we achieved a significant success as a result of our determined efforts. We will prepare for the 1st League competitions in the 2020–2021 academic year with the same determination and dedication." Following the tournament, the athletes were welcomed by Çağ University Rector Prof. Dr. Ünal AY, who stated:
"We are proud of our students. In addition to their academic achievements, we highly value their participation in social, cultural, and sporting activities."

At the Intercollegiate Turkish Boxing Championship, our athlete Abdulkadir Zerman, competing in the 91 kg category, placed third and was awarded the bronze medal. We congratulate our student and wish him continued success.
Organized by ESN Çağ and hosted by our university for the first time in the Mediterranean region, ESN 101 was held on December 7–8, with the participation of many universities from across Turkey.
During the event, the structure and functioning of ESN Turkey & ESN International were discussed. The Board of Directors, Committees, Projects, and Goals were introduced.
The aim of the meeting was to inform and train members of ESN sections from universities in the Mediterranean region. Workshops were held on the role and history of ESN, event planning, social media, and website management. ESN 101 took place with the participation of the ESN Turkey Board, Çukurova University, İzmir Dokuz Eylül University, Akdeniz University, Pamukkale University, Selçuk University, Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University, İzmir University of Economics, and Bahçeşehir University.
Our Personal Development Club President and 4th-year student in the International Trade and Logistics Department, Taylan Yıldırım, received the “Outstanding Representative” award at the “15th Genç Akademi / Gathering of Turkey’s Universities” event organized by the Operational Research Club of Bilkent University.
Our second-year Psychology student, Cansu Aşıcı, has been elected as the President of the Mersin City Council Youth Assembly.
In addition, our first-year Occupational Health and Safety student, Yonca Kırsoy, and our first-year International Relations student, Utku Bozkurt, have also been elected as members of the executive board.
Prepared for the tournaments under the guidance of a professional coach, our university’s women’s tennis team placed second in the Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation, in which a total of 46 university teams participated.By defeating Galatasaray University, 17 Eylül University, and Aksaray University, our university completed the group stage undefeated and advanced to the top 12 teams. In the final, Çağ University athletes faced Süleyman Demirel University and finished the tournament in second place, earning the right to lift the runner-up trophy.

Our third-year Psychology student, Elif Ezgi AVCI, has been appointed as the Secretary General of the Turkish Psychology Students Working Group (TPÖÇG), which operates in 67 universities and carries out highly qualified activities for psychology students across Turkey. We wish our student Elif Ezgi success in her one-year term as Secretary General at TPÖÇG.
The projects titled “Nature-Friendly Mathematics” and “Hand in Hand to Discover the Sky in the Mediterranean”, submitted within the scope of TÜBİTAK 4004 Nature Education and Science Schools 2017–2018 call, have been accepted and deemed eligible for support by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). Our university’s Astronomy Observation and Research Center coordinator, Lecturer Arif Solmaz, will contribute as an instructor in both projects. As part of these projects, theoretical and practical astronomy training sessions will be provided to participating students and teachers at the planetarium and observatory within our center.
