At our university, a total of 7 laboratories comprising 3 in Turkish and 4 in English with 210 computers in total are available for student use. In addition, there are open access areas with 80 computers, and 70 HP ultra-elite computers and mini PCs located within the library are also offered for student use.
As Çağ University, we have a dynamic structure that closely follows technology. With our constantly renewed and improved infrastructure, a 150 Mb/ps Metro Ethernet connection is provided throughout the campus, offering fast internet access to our students, academic, and administrative staff.
Throughout the campus, Thin Client technology is used in systems established for students, establishing a server and client-based connection. This setup provides high-performance processing power and is made available for the use of all our students.
In addition, wireless internet service is provided within all campus boundaries, offered to our students as well as academic and administrative staff.
Simultaneous Interpretation Laboratory
In our university, a laboratory has been established to prepare students enrolled in the Department of Translation and Interpreting for professional working life. In this laboratory, students are trained to gain the ability to perform oral translation using real interpreting equipment.
Located on the third floor of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, our laboratory includes various interpreting equipment to help students improve their translation skills through practical experience. These include interpreter units, receiver-listener headsets, sound systems, and headset microphones. The central control unit located in our laboratory is capable of transmitting audio to interpreters simultaneously through 4 different channels. The interpreter units used by students during translation transmit the speaker's voice to the interpreters and the interpreters' voice to the listeners via a separate microphone system.
Our Simultaneous Interpretation Laboratory includes 25 student units, each of which allows two individuals to interpret simultaneously. Additionally, the laboratory contains 3 fully equipped simultaneous interpretation booths, each supporting interpretation in two groups. Each booth is equipped with a computer system for students to use during interpretation.
By evaluating the equipment provided in our laboratory, students are exposed to current speeches during translation courses, and are trained to perform consecutive interpretation in the most efficient way.
Virtual reality (VR) is an exciting technology that has rapidly gained popularity in recent years. VR technology offers users the experience of stepping outside the real world by allowing their senses to be influenced in a virtual environment presented to them. Our virtual reality laboratories are specifically designed for students to explore, develop, and conduct research on this exciting technology. The Virtual Reality Laboratory at our university is located on the floor of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, next to the Finance Laboratory. In the field of education and training, VR laboratories support learning by providing students with in-depth experiences and enhancing their understanding of complex concepts. Our Virtual Reality Laboratory includes hardware and software systems that allow users to interact within a virtual environment. Through these systems, our students can be immersed in a virtual world offering 360-degree visuals and audio during the conducted lessons. With VR headsets, hand controllers, and similar equipment available in our laboratory, the user experience of our students is enriched.Advanced sensor technologies and high-performance graphics processors are among the other essential components used in our laboratory to ensure a realistic and seamless virtual experience.
