Training on “Use of Force and Firearms by Law Enforcement” by Çağ University
Within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed between Tarsus Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and Çağ University on December 19, 2024, Prof. Dr. M. Tevfik Odman, Dean of the Faculty of Law, delivered a presentation titled “Use of Force and Firearms by Law Enforcement” at the Tarsus Courthouse on October 21, 2025.
The seminar began with an opening speech by Tarsus Chief Public Prosecutor Orhan Kaya and was attended primarily by public prosecutors, gendarmerie personnel, and other official law enforcement officers.
In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Odman provided information within the framework of the right to life, referring to:

Article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights,

Article 17 of the Constitution of the Republic of Türkiye,

Article 16 of the Law on Police Duties and Powers, and

relevant provisions of the Turkish Penal Code.
