Major Achievement from Çağ University Faculty of Law: Second Place and “Best Speaker” Award in Debate Competition

On 13–14–15 April 2026, the Prof. Dr. Hakan Pekcanıtez Legal Debate Competition was held at Çağ University in collaboration with ELSA Adana, in memory of A. Yaşar Bayboğan.

A total of 16 teams from Adana, Yalova, Ankara, İzmir, Antalya, Cyprus, and Mersin participated in the competition, where students competed through their legal reasoning and rhetorical skills.

After challenging preliminary rounds, three teams from the 3rd and 4th year students of Çağ University Faculty of Law advanced to the quarterfinals. The team consisting of 4th year students Songül Çifçi and Tuğba Beşağıl achieved outstanding performance and finished the competition in second place.

Best Speaker of the Tournament: Songül Çifçi

In addition to team success, individual performances also stood out. Çağ University Faculty of Law 4th year student Songül Çifçi was awarded the title of “Best Speaker of the Entire Competition” based on jury evaluations, thanks to her strong rhetoric, legal argumentation skills, and persuasive ability throughout the tournament.
