Between June 16–19, 2025, Prof. Dr. Eda Yaşa ÖZELTÜRKAY, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat GÜLMEZ, Assist. Prof. Dr. Senem ZAİMOĞLU, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Dilara DEMİREZ represented our university at the Global Sustainable Development Conference 2025 (GSDC 2025), held in Istanbul under the main sponsorship of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

The impressions gained during the conference clearly demonstrated that sustainability is not only an environmental concept but is also addressed holistically with its social, economic, and cultural dimensions. It was emphasized that sustainability has moved beyond being merely a vision for universities and has become an institutional responsibility and priority.

According to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 data announced during the conference, this year, 2,526 universities from 130 countries/regions (out of 2,318 listed universities) participated in the ranking by documenting their work towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with data.

As Çağ University, this year we were evaluated within the scope of six sustainable development goals, primarily “SDG 4: Quality Education” and “SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals,” and were placed in the following rankings:

  • Overall Ranking: 1501+

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being: 1001–1500

  • SDG 4: Quality Education: 1501+

  • SDG 5: Gender Equality: 1501+

  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: 1001+

  • SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: 401–600

  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals: 1001–1500

These rankings reveal our university’s strengths and areas for improvement in sustainability and provide us with an important roadmap for developing more effective strategies at the international level.

As Çağ University, we aim to continue increasing our efforts contributing to sustainable development goals and to fulfill our institutional responsibility in this field with determination.
