Prof. Dr. Eda Yaşa ÖZELTÜRKAY, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat GÜLMEZ, Asst. Prof. Dr. Senem ZAİMOĞLU, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Dilara DEMİREZ represented our university at the Global Sustainable Development Conference 2025 (GSDC 2025), held in Istanbul between June 16–19, 2025, under the main sponsorship of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
The insights gained throughout the conference clearly demonstrated that sustainability is not solely an environmental concept, but rather one that must be addressed holistically through its social, economic, and cultural dimensions. It was emphasized that for universities, sustainability has moved beyond being a visionary goal and has become an institutional responsibility and priority.
According to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, which were announced during the conference, a total of 2,526 universities from 130 countries/regions (with 2,318 universities officially listed) participated in the ranking by documenting their contributions toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with data.
As Çağ University, we were evaluated within the scope of six SDGs, primarily “SDG 4: Quality Education” and “SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals,” and achieved the following rankings:
Overall Ranking: 1501+
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being: 1001–1500
SDG 4: Quality Education: 1501+
SDG 5: Gender Equality: 1501+
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: 1001+
SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: 401–600
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals: 1001–1500
These rankings highlight both the strengths of our university in the field of sustainability and the areas with room for further development. They also offer us a valuable roadmap for developing more effective strategies on an international level.
As Çağ University, we are committed to enhancing our efforts that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and to fulfilling our institutional responsibility in this field with determination.
