7. Management of Research and Development Resources

At Çağ University, the adequacy and relevance of necessary information resources to support the delivery of quality services are assured. Academic staff and students at the institution can access resources that contribute to teaching and research-development activities. These resources include libraries, computer, and internet access facilities. The university has organized the information resources available in the library and departmental libraries, as well as internet access capacities, in accordance with the needs and expectations of researchers and students. A feedback mechanism is in place to identify the needs and expectations of researchers and students. The institution regularly monitors, reviews, and updates resources related to teaching and research-development.

8. Implementation of Research and Development Activities and Defined Processes

Processes for research and development services are defined at Çağ University and are conducted in accordance with the Quality Assurance System. Within this framework, the processes of planning, supporting, implementing, and monitoring research and development activities are established through the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle. Efficient and effective use of resources is taken into account in these processes. Performance indicators related to research and development services are defined and regularly monitored at the university.

9. Strategic Goals Related to Research and Development Activities and the Process of Achieving These Goals

9.1. Increasing the Number of National and International Qualified Publications
Aiming to increase its effectiveness in the field of scientific research, Çağ University seeks to increase the number and quality of scientific studies and the number of publications indexed by prestigious scientific/art journals. The fundamental goal in this regard is to reach an average of 1 (one) article per academic staff member per year published in national and international peer-reviewed journals indexed by Science Citation Index (SCI), Science Citation Index-Expanded (preferably SCI-Expanded), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), and Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI). To achieve this goal, the following actions are necessary:

Providing scientific article writing training for academic staff and graduate students,

Requiring publication in reputable journals as a graduation condition in doctoral programs to increase R&D/publication activities,

Including the requirement of publication in reputable journals among the criteria for appointment and promotion,

Increasing the number of interdisciplinary publications.

9.2. Increasing the Number of Papers/Posters Presented at National or International Congresses, Conferences, or Symposiums
The target is an average of 2 (two) papers/posters per academic staff member per year presented at national or international congresses, conferences, or symposiums. To achieve this goal, the following actions are required:

Providing support for participation in national and international congresses, conferences, and symposiums,

Offering hands-on training on scientific paper preparation.

9.3. Increasing the Number of Externally Funded Projects
As externally funded projects are a key indicator of a university’s national and international presence, it is essential to increase the number of externally funded projects conducted under the Çağ University affiliation. Externally funded projects by academic staff signify the acquisition of external resources for research. Therefore, encouraging academic staff to consider externally funded projects is an important strategic goal. To achieve this goal, the following steps should be taken:

Organizing information sessions on project applications,

Informing doctoral students about externally funded projects such as those supported by TÜBİTAK,

Providing project writing training to academic staff and doctoral students,

Offering support in project writing and submission processes,

Developing collaborations with public and private sector institutions that provide research funding,

Delivering international project writing training,

Developing interdisciplinary, innovative, and entrepreneurship-focused research projects aligned with regional and national needs in priority areas,

Providing training on writing projects aimed at university-industry collaboration and product development.

9.4. Regulation for Supporting International Scientific Activities
To improve the quantity and quality of scientific studies, research, and publications, it is aimed that the international scientific activities/publications, national/international patents, and significant contributions to the university by researchers working at Çağ University are rewarded by the university.

9.5. Research and Development Awards
In line with the targets set out in this strategic document, Çağ University aims to reward the academic staff and studies that significantly contribute to the realization of the university’s research and development goals. Within this scope, the criteria, types, and schedule of research and development awards have been determined.
