EDUCATION PRACTICE AND RESEARCH CENTER REGULATION
SECTION ONE
Objective, Scope, Legal Basis, and Definitions
ARTICLE 1 – (1) The purpose of this Regulation is to set forth the principles and procedures regardingthe objectives, fields of activity, administrative bodies, duties of administrative bodies, and operational procedures of the Çağ University Continuous Education Practice and Research Center.
Scope
ARTICLE 2 – (1) This Regulation covers the provisions concerning the objectives, fields of activity, administrative bodies, duties of the administrative bodies, and the working procedures of the Çağ University Continuous Education Practice and Research Center.
Legal Basis
ARTICLE 3 – (1) This Regulation has been prepared based on Article 7, paragraph (d), subparagraph (2), and Article 14 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, dated 4 November 1981.
Definitions
ARTICLE 4 – (1) The following terms used in this Regulation shall have the meanings indicated below:
a) Advisory Board: Refers to the Advisory Board of the Center,
b) Center: Refers to the Çağ University Continuous Education Practice and Research Center,
c) Director: Refers to the Director of the Center,
ç) Rector: Refers to the Rector of Çağ University,
d) University: Refers to Çağ University,
e) Executive Board: Refers to the Executive Board of the Center.
SECTION TWO
Objectives and Fields of Activity of the Center
Objectives of the Center
ARTICLE 5 – (1) The objectives of the Center are as follows:
a) To enable the sharing of the knowledge and experience of expert academicians from various disciplines of the University with individuals from all age groups and social segments,
b) To provide students, graduates, public institutions and organizations, and other individuals with consultancy services and the acquisition of knowledge, skills, expertise, and professions,
c) To support the career development of university students by increasing their competencies and skills beyond their fields of study.
Fields of Activity of the Center
ARTICLE 6 – (1) The fields of activity of the Center are as follows:
a) To organize short-term courses, seminars, and conferences open to general participation,
b) To conduct executive training programs,
c) To provide consultancy services,
ç) To issue certificates or certificates of achievement to participants in accordance with relevant regulations,
d) To engage in other activities in line with its objectives.
SECTION THREE
Administrative Bodies of the Center and Their Duties
Administrative Bodies of the Center
ARTICLE 7 – (1) The administrative bodies of the Center are as follows:
a) The Director,
b) The Executive Board,
c) The Advisory Board.
Director
ARTICLE 8 – (1) The Director is appointed for a term of three years by the Board of Trustees upon the recommendation of the Rector from among the academic staff of the University. The Director may be reappointed after the term ends.
(2) With the Rector’s approval, the Director may appoint one member from the Executive Board to assist in their duties. The assistant’s term ends automatically when the Director’s term ends.
Duties of the Director
ARTICLE 9 – (1) The duties of the Director are as follows:
a) To represent the Center and chair the Executive Board,
b) To manage the administrative affairs of the Center,
c) To submit the annual work program of the Center to the Rector for approval after obtaining the opinion of the Executive Board,
ç) To liaise with national and international institutions and organizations related to the Center's activities and conduct projects and mutual collaborations in line with the Center's objectives within the framework of relevant legislation.
Executive Board
ARTICLE 10 – (1) The Executive Board consists of seven members: the Director and six faculty members with experience in the Center's fields of activity, appointed for three years.
(2) The Executive Board convenes at least once every three months upon the call of the Director and takes decisions with a simple majority.
Duties of the Executive Board
ARTICLE 11 – (1) The duties of the Executive Board are as follows:
a) To take decisions regarding the management and activities of the Center,
b) To prepare the annual activity report and the work program for the following year.
Advisory Board and Its Duties
ARTICLE 12 – (1) The Advisory Board consists of up to seven members with experience in the Center’s fields of activity, appointed by the Rector for a three-year term upon the recommendation of the Executive Board. Members may be reappointed after their term ends.
(2) The duties of the Advisory Board are to evaluate and provide consultative opinions and suggestions on matters required by the Executive Board concerning the Center's activities.
SECTION FOUR
Miscellaneous and Final Provisions
Unregulated Cases
ARTICLE 13 – (1) In cases not covered by this Regulation, the relevant provisions of other legislation and the decisions of the University Senate shall apply.
Enforcement
ARTICLE 14 – (1) This Regulation enters into force on the date of its publication.
Execution
ARTICLE 15 – (1) The provisions of this Regulation shall be executed by the Rector of Çağ University
