Students at any level of higher education can participate in study mobility at one of the partner higher education institutions abroad as part of their diploma programs. This type of mobility may also include an internship program. The combination of study and internship mobility aims to create synergy between academic and professional experience abroad.
Student mobility for studies is carried out within the framework of ECHE and the existing inter-institutional agreements of the higher education institution.
The activity consists of a student enrolled at a higher education institution spending a part of their studies at a partner institution abroad through an inter-institutional agreement.
The minimum duration of study mobility is 2 full months or 1 trimester, and the maximum duration is 12 full months. The activity must be carried out continuously. Semester breaks and official holidays are not considered as interruptions in the mobility period.
Except for force majeure, if students return before completing the minimum required period, the activity is considered invalid and no grant is provided.
Students must be registered in a diploma program at a higher education institution to participate in the activity. They are expected to pursue a program abroad that corresponds to 60 ECTS credits for one full academic year, 30 ECTS for one semester in a two-semester academic year, or 20 ECTS in a trimester-based academic year. Full academic recognition is provided for the credits successfully completed; failed credits must be repeated at the home institution.
Total Duration Limit of Activities
For a student, the total duration of mobility activities under the same level of education (bachelor, master's, or doctorate), including any period spent under Erasmus Mundus or during the 2014–2020 and 2021–2027 Erasmus+ programs, cannot exceed 12 months. Even if no grant is awarded, the total duration of mobility activities must not exceed 12 months per study level.
Once a student completes their current level of study and advances to a new level (e.g., from undergraduate to graduate), they may participate in physical mobility activities for up to 12 months again at the new level.
Minimum Requirements for Erasmus Student Mobility
To participate in the activity, students must meet the following minimum requirements:
The student must be a full-time student enrolled in a formal higher education program at any level (first, second, or third cycle) at the higher education institution.
a) For undergraduate (first cycle) students: a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.20/4.00
b) For transfer students without a transcript yet: an associate degree graduation GPA of at least 2.20/4.00
c) For graduate and doctoral (second and third cycle) students: a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50/4.00
There must be sufficient number of courses or ECTS credit load available for study mobility. For students in thesis periods with no course load (such as graduate or doctoral students), a Learning Agreement based on a 30 ECTS non-course workload may be arranged.
If the student has already participated in mobility activities during the 2014–2020 and/or 2021–2027 Erasmus+ periods at the same level of study, the total mobility duration must not exceed 12 months with the new activity included.
Selection Criteria
Çağ University selects students for study and internship activities according to the criteria determined by the Center. Among the students who apply and meet the minimum requirements, selections are made based on the announced evaluation criteria and their respective weights, ranking students from highest to lowest score according to preference/order/score/budget.
In addition to the average of academic success and foreign language scores, students who have previously benefited from Erasmus+ (2014–2020 or 2021–2027) student or internship mobility will have 10 points deducted from their Erasmus score for each previous participation (regardless of study or internship).
