Important Announcement to Our Students: Beware of IBAN Fraud!
In recent years, an increase has been observed in fraud cases carried out through the use of IBAN accounts, particularly among university students. Such incidents often begin with good intentions or promises of short-term financial gain; however, they may lead to serious legal and criminal consequences for students. Allowing one’s bank account to be used for money transfers belonging to others may cause students to become involved in criminal acts without being aware of it and may result in severe victimization.
Within this scope, it is of great importance that our students:

Under no circumstances allow their bank accounts to be used by third parties,

Absolutely do not trust requests to send or receive money from individuals they do not know,

Stay away from offers containing expressions such as “quick profit” or “we will only use your account,”

Apply to the relevant units of our university or to authorized official institutions in case they encounter suspicious situations.
Our University continues its informative and preventive efforts in order to protect our students against legal and criminal risks, to maintain a safe educational environment, and to increase awareness. In this process, it is of great importance that our students act consciously and carefully, both for their own future and in terms of social responsibility.
