Elmas Şahin is Professor of Comparative Literature, writer and literary critic. She teaches comparative literature, women's literature, literary theories and criticism, orientalism and modern Turkish literature at Department of Turkish Language and Literature of the Çağ University. Her main interests, and areas of research and publication in scholarship include theories of literary genres, comparative studies on Modern Turkish, English, French and American writings, feminine writing and cultural studies.
