The Çağ University Regional Security Studies Application and Research Center organized the Statecraft Workshop under the theme 'Simulation, Diplomacy, and Security: Rethinking International Relations' on May 20, 2026, with the participation of academics and students from six different universities.
Academics from six different institutions coming together within the scope of the workshop drew attention to how simulation and active learning models increase the analytical capacity of actors in foreign policy-making and crisis management processes. Emphasizing the importance of blending theoretical knowledge with practice in international relations pedagogy, the experts addressed the role of such interactive methods in understanding strategic decision-making mechanisms.
The students, who formed the dynamic aspect of the event, shared how they transferred the theoretical background they acquired into the simulation field. Participant students conveyed their processes of conducting diplomacy in times of crisis, developing negotiation strategies, and personally experiencing statecraft applications through role-playing.
