A seminar entitled “Climate Crisis and Water” was organized for middle school students at Çağ College. The event, held in collaboration with the Sustainability Office, comprehensively addressed the impacts of climate change on water resources.
The seminar was delivered by Dr. İlke Ulutaş, Research Assistant in the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and took place on 26 February 2026 at the Çağ College Theatre Hall. The program provided substantial insights into the global climate crisis, the sustainable management of water resources, and the responsibilities individuals can undertake in this context.
During the seminar, students learned that the protection of water constitutes not only an environmental concern but also a global issue with significant social and economic dimensions. They also developed awareness of practical water-saving strategies and responsible consumption practices that can be implemented in their daily lives.
Within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particular emphasis was placed on the goals of “Quality Education,” “Clean Water and Sanitation,” and “Climate Action,” highlighting the active role that young individuals can assume in advancing these objectives.
The seminar once again underscored the critical importance of fostering environmental awareness at an early age as a fundamental step toward building a sustainable future.
